Ravikumar Narayan, graduated in Architecture from School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University, Chennai in 1989 and went on to complete his Masters in Landscape Architecture at the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi in 1991.
He was part of a multidisciplinary firm DKS Consultants, New Delhi for a few years, involved with the project 'Tehri New Town' in Himalayas.
In 1995, he established the firm 'Ravikumar and Associates' (RaA),
consulting Landscape Architecture, Master Planning and Environmental Design.
Ravikumar Narayan has been the member of board of studies of the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University (2002 – 2006).
He has been also a visiting faculty, jury member and guest lecturer in many Schools of Architecture including VIT University Vellore, SAP, Anna University, MGR university and Sathyabama University.
Landscape Urbanism, Site Planning and Sustainable Design being his favourite subjects, he has presented papers on these topics in many Green summits and landscape conventions.

- Worked as Landscape Architect from Feb 1991 - Dec 1992 with AR. SATISH KHANNA, DKS CONSULTANTS, NEW DELHI and dealt with various landscape projects including New Tehri Town in Himalayas.
- Practicing as Landscape Architect and Environmental Designer in the name of Ravikumar and Associates in Chennai since Feb 1995 & completed more than 1000 projects.
- Collaborating with more than 100 Architects in their Master Planning & Landscape Projects.
